Peter Lovenkrands couldn't believe 'crazy' half-time reveal in Rangers win vs St Johnstone
Rangers dominated St Johnstone throughout their 4-0 win on Saturday afternoon.
The Scottish Premiership clash between Derek McInnes and Simo Valakari's teams was one sided in the heavy rain.
Kevin Kelsy gave the Gers the lead in the 29th minute and could've doubled it before half-time.
Apart from those two moments at Ibrox, McInnes' side created plenty of chances but only went in one goal ahead at the break.
The Glaswegian outfit were brilliant from set-pieces last season, but haven't utilised them to the fullest under the Scottish manager.
Against the Saints, the Govan side looked to cause problems from dead-ball situations and did so with plenty of corners.
How many corners did Rangers have in first half vs St Johnstone?
Scott Fry left Rangers in the summer after impressing as set-piece coach in his few months at Ibrox.
There has been a clear decline in the Gers' threat from corners and free-kicks in the current campaign.
Valakari's team gave the Light Blues plenty of opportunities to showcase their set-piece prowess.
In the first half alone, the Glaswegian outfit had nine corners and Peter Lovenkrands couldn't believe McInnes' side didn't make the most of them.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound on 24 October, the former Denmark international said, "Rangers not taking their opportunities. Toby Steward, fantastic save in the end. But before that, they've had so many chances, so many set-plays.
"So many corners, especially. I think they had about 10 corners. It's crazy."
Why doubts will remain despite Ibrox victory
Rangers dominated the first half against St Johnstone, but the start of the second half looked completely different.
In the challenging conditions as rain poured down in Govan, the Gers lost control in the opening 15 minutes.
Valakari's team looked more threatening and created several problems for the Light Blues.
However, against the run of play at around the hour mark, Ryan Naderi doubled the lead for the Glaswegian outfit as the weather conditions worsened.
Kelsy scored again and Tochi Chukwuani finished things off, but it still could have been better.
The Govan side have lost control of games in their recent fixtures and that's something McInnes still needs to work on at Ibrox despite the 4-0 win.
