Minsu Kim's 'enormous' Ibrox potential comes with one caveat at Rangers
Minsu Kim has been backed to become a crucial player at Rangers for many more years to come.
The winger joined the Bears from Girona in a deal worth £8.5million, and so far, the 49ers may believe that it's been money well spent.
Derek McInnes is a big fan of the 20-year-old, and was keen to add further quality out wide ahead of the summer transfer deadline.
Kim has already played in several positions, with his latest experiment coming at left wing in the Gers' 4-0 win at Ibrox over St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
The South Korea international is favoured ahead of the likes of Djeidi Gassama and Auchenhowie graduate Findlay Curtis, among others.
However, what could stop Kim from reaching his full potential at Rangers?
Keith Jackson shares caveat with 'enormous' Minsu Kim ceiling
Kim has had Rangers fans on the edge of their seats ever since he made his debut against Aberdeen in August.
The winger has come up with some big moments, including the shot that led to Ryan Naderi's winner in the 1-0 Old Firm victory at Celtic Park.
He featured again in the win over St. Johnstone, but his 80-minute display made it a ninth consecutive game without registering a goal or an assist.
Keith Jackson is a big fan of Kim and backs him to do well at Ibrox, but still needs to see the forward getting goals and assists.
Jackson said, while speaking on Daily Record's Hotline Live: "He's a livewire, isn't he? He's all action. His ceiling is enormous, but, and I will say but, he needs to get his name on the goalsheet.
"He's going to have to start chipping in with goals. I think he will; he looks as though he's got all the tools."
It was also mentioned that he could go on to play for the Gers for many successful years.
However, that may only happen if he adds goal contributions to his game, but so far, all the signs are positive.
The first thing Kim said to Derek McInnes after St. Johnstone revealed
Kim was given his maiden call-up to South Korea's national team last month, and will most likely be given the nod again for the upcoming international break.
He is being recognised not just by Rangers fans at Ibrox, but is catching the eyes of many people in Scotland and further afield.
Rangers boss McInnes spoke about his conversation and thoughts on Kim after the win over St. Johnstone.
McInnes said, as quoted by the Scotsman: "The first thing he talks about is that he’s not scored.
"I'm trying to get him away from that. He's so desperate to score and do well, and I think it's clearly annoying him that he's hit a couple of posts now, but his overall game, his threat, was superb today.
"He's so willing. His counter-press is magnificent. His confidence in possession, his work rate, and the quality that he shows throughout the game."
Hopefully the goals will soon start to come, because his performances have deserved them.
