Memories of Michael Beale at Rangers will deliver a mixed review.

The former Gers manager was part of Steven Gerrard's staff that brought league title number 55 to Ibrox.

However, his reign as manager of the Glasgow side did not deliver the same outcome.

In October 2023, Beale was ultimately sacked by Rangers after picking up three losses in the Scottish Premiership, with just four wins in seven games.

However, Beale's influece at Rangers can still be felt, particularly in the form of midfielder Nicolas Raskin.

And that relationship still seems intact amid the latest from the 46-year-old.

Michael Beale shares details of recent Nico Raskin chat

Beale was the manager that brought Raskin to Rangers, with the pair working together for around 10 months from January 2023 until the manager was let go.

Since then, Raskin has continued to go from strength to strength, quickly becoming a fan favourite in G51.

While it has been three years since the two have worked together, it has not been that long since they last spoke.

As the Daily Mail reports, Beale is still in contact with Raskin, with the Englishman admitting to a recent conversation with the midfielder.

He stated: "I was just speaking to young Nico Raskin last week who I signed and he plays in the Belgian national team; he was wishing me well."

The 46-year-old is currently working in Raskin's home country as manager of Zulte-Waregem.

Rangers is a club that Beale is continuing to keep an eye on, with the former manager admitting he is "never far away" from the Bears due to his sons being supporters.

So, while his managerial reign may not hold the greatest memories, there are still those lingering links between Beale and Rangers.

Raskin's latest form only makes Rangers' next call harder

When January comes around, speculation over Raskin's future will certainly be rife once again after he failed to secure a move away in the summer.

There was an expectation that now was the right time for the Gers to cash in on the midfielder, particularly after he impressed for Belgium at the World Cup.

His form on the international stage has remained strong throughout these Nations League fixtures as well.

However, while he remains a Rangers player, supporters will be looking towards the talisman to help propel them up the Scottish league table, and push Derek McInnes' side closer to glory than Beale did back in 2023.
