Kevin Kelsy definitely hasn't hit full stride at Rangers.

The Venezuelan striker arrived late in the summer transfer window, with Portland Timbers accepting a £9.5million bid.

Derek McInnes has thrown his new striker immediately into the deep end at Ibrox, too, starting nearly every single game.

With a goal on his full debut against Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup, he found the net again in the win over Kilmarnock on Saturday.

The 3-1 win sent Rangers top, and after missing a huge chance off the bench against Motherwell, Kelsy is slowly proving himself.

Despite big questions around his performance against Killie, he's still making all of the difference alongside Ryan Naderi.

Only one thing matters for Kevin Kelsy

It doesn't matter how he plays, if Kelsy is scoring goals and Rangers are winning, he's doing his job.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene, McFadden wasn't too impressed but admits he got the job done for his side.

"I know it's a lot of money, and people can always look at the fee," he said.

"But he's scored a goal. Yes, you look at strikers, and you want to see all-round play, particularly for the money, but when you're finding the back of the net, I think his overall play in the game was pretty poor, to be honest.

"I think Neil McCann is unhappy, thinks it's a handball, it could be, but there's no definitive proof."

Rangers' Kevin Kelsy gamble has already paid off as value skyrockets at Ibrox

Was it a handball?

Can anybody say definitively that it was? Looking at the footage, it's impossible to tell.

Kelsy clearly falls into the ball after attempting to chest it down, but there does appear to be space between his hand and that.

Neil McCann may not have been happy, but maybe he should look at his entire defence and goalkeeper, who still had plenty of opportunity to stop the South American from scoring.

At a time when officials in Scotland are being called out every single week, it seems, you can't jump on that bandwagon when something may have gone wrong.

This decision had nothing to do with the end result, and there were no complaints on the pitch after Kelsy had scored.

Yes, his overall game may not have been up to scratch, but after a long break of travel and starting again, he will only get better.
