Rangers' Kevin Kelsy gamble has already paid off as value skyrockets at Ibrox
Rangers made a late move for Kevin Kelsy in the summer window, and he's already left his mark.
The Gers went for a new centre-forward following Youssef Chermiti's long-term injury, leaving Derek McInnes light in attack.
Bad news would later follow with Lawrence Shankland also ruled out for a lengthy period.
The Bears were left with Ryan Naderi and Bojan Miovski as forwards who were accustomed to Scottish football.
In many ways, bringing Kelsy to Ibrox was a gamble, knowing they needed a ready-made striker and there was uncertainty over how quickly he could adapt.
However, the higher ups have seemingly made that gamble worthwhile.
How much is Kevin Kelsy now valued at?
Rangers spent quite a bit to bring Kelsy to Ibrox, and the Venezuelan has been a hit so far.
While he has yet to score in three Scottish Premiership appearances, he did manage both a goal and assist against bitter rivals Celtic in the Scottish League Cup.
And that should be enough to hold off the vultures as he continues to settle into life in a new league and country.
Rangers originally paid around £9.6million to secure the services of the South American, with the deal also including add-ons.
According to CIES Observatory, Kelsy's market value is already set around £13.2million.
So, as of now, the Bears have actually paid £3.6m less than what the 22-year-old is currently said to be worth.
Of course, with time, those potential add-ons can bring the price up, but the Glasgow side have seemingly got themselves a deal on the cheap.
Where does Kelsy rank among Rangers' most valuable players?
Despite only arriving, Kelsy has already emerged within Rangers' top three most valued players.
Above him in the list are both Nicolas Raskin (£15.5m) and Chermiti (£15m).
While below him is Djeidi Gassama (£12.8m) who has also started this season strongly for the Gers.
It is certainly not bad company for the striker to be in, and should he hit the ground running following the international break, there is no reason to suggest why he can't move further up the list.
McInnes will need his goals should Rangers begin pushing their way up the table.
And with Kelsy proving himself by scoring his first international goal for Venezuela over the break, that will hand the Scotsman all the more confidence over the summer signing.
