Everton may consider permanent sale of Rangers target Ellis Simms

Everton may reportedly consider the permanent sale of Rangers target and striker Ellis Simms this summer.

According to Scotsman journalist Barry Anderson, a loan exit from the Toffees looked most likely but they could now consider a permanent deal too.

Gers are also looking at other options but are believed to be keen on signing the 21-year-old after an impressive SPFL campaign with Hearts.

Anderson wrote on Twitter, "Hearts pushing to get Simms back. Rangers are aware he could become available. Both clubs also looking at other forwards. Loan would seem most likely but Everton may consider a permanent. Richarlison's exit to Spurs leaves them a striker short so that could delay Simms moving."

Better than Colak?

PAOK's Antonio Colak appears to be the player Gers are seeming to prioritise this summer with Giovanni van Bronckhorst understood to be a fan.

However, the 28-year-old has not been the most impressive in his domestic competitions and does not have the experience of playing in the Scottish top tier.

Simms has impressed in the SPFL so it makes sense why Rangers would fancy a move for him.

They have observed him first hand and the players surely would have passed on some messages about whether or not he would be an ideal signing this summer.

At 21, he's still got plenty left in his tank and this is not the best version we've seen of the player.

He could improve a great deal at Ibrox and more importantly, could be at the club for the better part of a decade - something which strikers have seldom done.
