Aiden McGeady calls out Derek McInnes error at Rangers as Si Ferry worried
Rangers have a habit of dropping points just as they've bounced back in recent years.
Danny Rohl somehow got the Bears ahead in the Scottish Premiership title race last season, but threw it all away in the split.
And now, after a slow start, Derek McInnes had his side back top after a dreadful beginning, but dropped points at Dundee.
The 2-2 draw instead allowed Celtic to increase the gap to four points.
McInnes is coming under pressure for that result, having swapped around his team that were on a seven-game win streak.
Si Ferry simply wasn't having it, and picked out a worry away from home.
Is Derek McInnes to blame?
Nobody is getting away from the fact that one point in moments like this simply isn't good enough.
Speaking on Open Goal, Ferry butted in when concerns were waved away about the draw at Dens Park.
"The away record is terrible," he said. "Is that not a worry?"
Aiden McGeady agreed, saying that McInnes simply got it all wrong at Dens Park by thinking too much about the opposition.
"If you're the Rangers or Celtic manager, you should not be setting up your team worrying about the other team play."
Rangers haven't actually lost away from home domestically this season, so that argument seems to make very little sense.
Why did Derek McInnes change a winning formula?
Kevin Kelsy had just hit his stride at Ibrox, scoring his second goal the week prior against Kilmarnock.
His replacement, Badredine Bouanani is a winger, meaning the system changed completely to a loan striker.
The Algerian found the net with a sublime strike too, so the likes of Djeidi Gassama may be looking over his shoulder now.
Kelsy simply has to come back in against St Johnstone, with Ryan Naderi nowhere near as good playing as a lone number nine.
Regardless of what physical defenders they're going up against, Rangers have the quality to beat anybody in Scotland.
You can overthink these things, and it would be zero surprise to see McInnes go back to what he knows best on Saturday at Ibrox.
That's a 4-4-2, with St Johnstone the unlucky side that Rangers will be desperate to put to the sword and bounce back.
