Rangers have learnt their guaranteed prize money for their embarrassing UEFA Europa League failings.

The Gers had plenty to look forward to at the start of the season, including the potential of another shot at the Europa League.

However, the first loss of the season came to Jagiellonia Bialystok in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying match, losing 2-1 in Poland.

Lawrence Shankland got the Bears back on level terms in the second leg of the tie at Ibrox, but Derek McInnes side drew the match 1-1 and were ultimately sent crashing out of the competition.

McInnes has turned things around in Govan since, most recently leading the Light Blues to a seven-game winning streak, which was halted by Dundee in a 2-2 draw at Dens Park on Saturday.

The 49ers have invested heavily in Rangers since arriving, but what will the Ibrox chiefs be receiving after the club's Europa League exit?

Rangers learn pitiful £16.7m disparity in fresh UEFA reveal

According to a report from the Daily Record on Wednesday, Rangers are guaranteed to receive £923,000 for their Europa League performance.

However, both Hibernian and Motherwell are sure to rake in more money than the Gers after their respective Conference League qualification attempts.

Hibs and the Steelmen are set to bank £1.1million each from their qualification games.

Celtic are in line to pocket £11.16m in prize money for their Europa League journey so far, which could even increase this week, with the Hoops set to play Celta Vigo on Thursday.

Hearts are guaranteed to get £4.28m for their Conference League success so far, and like Celtic, could boost their payday with a result over Trabzonspor this week.

Rangers' Scottish Premiership rivals are set to bring in numbers that mean their total combined income from UEFA roughly stands at £16.7m more than what the 49ers are due to receive.

New Rangers kit 'leaked' as 'never-seen-before' design raises eyebrows

How can McInnes redeem himself before the end of 2026?

Well, thankfully for Andrew Cavenagh and Co., UEFA aren't the only organisation that can help the Bears make money.

Rangers are set to face Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Premier Sports Cup on Saturday 31 October, with the other tie being Hearts against Hibs.

The final is due to be played before the end of 2026, as St. Mirren lifted the trophy on 14 December last year.

There's every chance that McInnes feels that this competition is a way to help Rangers fans get over the Europa League disappointment earlier in the season.

The route to win the trophy looks favourable, too, and the 49ers would benefit financially if Rangers won the whole tournament.
