New Rangers kit 'leaked' as 'never-seen-before' design raises eyebrows
Rangers appear to be about to launch their fourth kit - and it will no doubt raise more than a few eyebrows.
The Gers already have three kits for the 2026-27 campaign - a home kit, away kit and a third-choice kit.
It is not uncommon for a fourth kit to also be released, however, and it can often be around this time of the year.
That was the case last October when Rangers launched the now infamous orange strip.
The kit was to commemorate the 2000 Scottish Cup final, but it was unique to say the least.
The same can now be said about the 2026-27 fourth kit, assuming leaked images that emerged on Wednesday are anything to go by.
Rangers to launch 'unexpected' new kit
Footy Headlines have shared images of what they labelled an "unexpected new shirt" for Rangers - one that will raise eyebrows.
It "introduces a never-seen-before aesthetic", with a quartered layout and a mixture of "vibrant cyan and black", as the website puts it.
As can be seen from the image below, it is certainly a left-field choice, but that is what fourth kits usually are given how little they are used - if at all.
Rangers fans have questioned online whether it is a joke, though there could well be some method to the madness.
What is thinking behind Rangers' new fourth kit?
Again, it must be stressed that this is just a 'leaked' version of the kit.
Rangers have yet to announce the launch of the fourth strip, though they are expected to very soon.
And it has been pointed out how the kit is similar to the away one worn by Rangers in the 1996-97 season, albeit in red and white quarters.
The kit manufacturer was also Adidas back then, with McEwan's Lager on the front.
The 2026-27 edition, in this image at least, has current sleeve sponsor 'BOXT' on the front rather than 'Unibet'.
Clarity will arrive before long, but if this is to be Rangers' fourth kit it may be a collectors' item a few years from now.
