Danny Rohl is set to complete his move to RB Salzburg after Rangers reached a financial agreement to let him walk away from Ibrox.

The Bears are set to announce the departure of the German head coach this week, after it was reported that a deal had been reached with Salzburg.

Initial reports broke about Rohl's possible departure last week, as it was revealed that the Austrian side was pushing hard to make the 37-year-old their next head coach.

All that's left to complete are small details, as Rangers now turn their attention to Hearts boss Derek McInnes.

It's said that Gers are set to finalise the appointment of McInnes, just weeks after the Light Blues stole the Jambos' skipper, Lawrence Shankland.

Ibrox is ready for another new era, and hopefully a successful one this time, as the 49ers are in line for a cash boost from Rohl's departure.

Rangers receive £2m for Danny Rohl exit

Sky Sports have confirmed that Rangers are set to bank around £2million for Roh's switch to Salzburg, where he will once again work under the RB group.

It was reported that the Bears were set to take home a multi-million-pound fee in compensation if Rohl were to leave, and that looks to be the case.

However, where does this compensation payout rank in terms of the biggest cash windfalls received for a managerial change in the Scottish Premiership?

Brendan Rodgers left Celtic for Leicester City for around £9m in 2019, which is the highest ever compensation payout in Scottish Premiership history.

In second is Ange Postecoglou, as Celtic banked a fee in the region of £5m when je moved to Tottenham Hotspur, as Steven Gerrard comes in at third when he left Gers for Aston Villa for a compensation payout of £4.25m.

After that, reports over other managerial changes get murky, so that leaves Rohl's expected departure as the fourth-highest payout received in the Scottish Premiership for a head coach.

What do Rangers have to pay Hearts for Derek McInnes?

Rangers won't pocket all of the reported £2m payout for Rohl, as money will need to go towards the appointment of McInnes.

The Hearts boss is set to sign a three-year contract at Ibrox, so long as the 49ers can reach an agreement with the Jambos.

According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers have agreed a "significant" six-figure fee for the Scot, with suggestions elsewhere of a £500,000 sum.

However, that will be a fee that Andrew Cavenagh may not mind paying, especially after the chaos of the last week or so.
