Thelo Aasgaard conversations to be had as stats expose Rangers concern
Thelo Aasgaard may be someone that Rangers look to improve on this summer.
With that said, he won’t be the only one, with the Light Blues in need of more quality all over the pitch if they are to win silverware.
Replacing Mikey Moore is set to be a priority for the Gers given the impact he had at Ibrox last season, with a return to Tottenham looking likely.
However, Rangers need more creativity all over their squad, which is where they have often struggled.
Aasgaard was signed last summer as a potential remedy for that, though he could be replaced this time round, and the stats showcase why.

Stats show where Thelo Aasgaard is coming up short
Aasgaard has not been an issue for Rangers as such, though he has rarely been a standout performer in a position where that is often needed.
He managed seven goals and four assists in the Scottish Premiership last season, which, on the face of it, is a tidy return, though his deeper stats are concerning.
Given that he typically occupies one of the three creative roles, the fact that he averages just 1.54 chances created per game is a worry.

That places him among the bottom 55.2 per cent of players for his position in the league.
Aasgaard also only averages 28 passes per game, which again showcases his lack of involvement in games, which is far from helpful when Rangers typically dominate possession.
Rangers priority lies elsewhere this summer
Aasgaard can certainly be improved upon, though there are several other areas that require attention beforehand if the Light Blues are to make anything of the upcoming campaign.
As mentioned above, the Gers have lacked quality in the wide areas outside of Moore, which has to be their main focus this summer.
Djeidi Gassama had a mixed campaign, while Oliver Antman struggled to have any real influence.
Addressing that area will be the biggest task for Rangers, who need to get it right this summer given the disappointment they endured.
