Lawrence Shankland to sign multi-year agreement as dream Rangers transfer close
Rangers are poised to complete the signing of Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland.
After missing out on the Scottish Premiership title on the final day at Celtic, the striker jetted away on holiday before the summer World Cup in North America.
That will now be cut short as Shankland gets set to make his Ibrox move official.
Danny Rohl and Andrew Cavenagh have made no secret of their desire to add more Scottish talent and leadership to their group, but nobody expected it this quickly.
Rangers will enter the market days after the season ended and weeks before the window even opens.
🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨
The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
Rangers will pay fee to sign Lawrence Shankland
Despite suggestions that Shankland could join Rangers for nothing, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Chris Jack of the Rangers Review has reported that an undisclosed fee is on the table and ready to go after the striker made it clear he wanted the move.
Shankland will now return home early to sign a multi-year agreement at Ibrox, believed to be an initial two-year contract with the option for a further season.
It is said that Shankland wants the deal done before going away with Scotland to the World Cup.
Could Rangers sanction another huge summer of change?
Russell Martin was in charge last summer, and it was a period of massive changes both in and out at Ibrox under new ownership.
It’s suggested that it won’t be as brutal this time around, but similar numbers close to it could be expected from Rohl and his staff.
Jayden Meghoma and Andreas Skov Olsen have already returned to their parent clubs, while the bombshell exit of James Tavernier is still fresh.

With a big name like Tavernier moving on, leadership will be critical in this transfer window.
Shankland delivers exactly that and some more, with his goalscoring exploits in this country set to take Rangers to another level too under Rohl.
The striker will be more determined than ever to lift the Scottish Premiership after his disappointment last season, not that he will need more motivation at his lifelong supported club.
What a start to the off-season this will be, and we can expect confirmation within a matter of days.
