Rangers: Danny Rohl set for Ryan Naderi-esque scout mission in Saxony Cup final
Rangers manager Danny Rohl will be in attendance as FSV Zwickau face FC Erzgebirge Aue in the Saxony Cup final on Saturday.
The German boss has revealed that he will be in the stands at the GGZ-Arena with his family on 23 May to watch his former club play.
Before getting into management, the 37-year-old head coach started his playing career at FSV, who are now playing in the fourth tier of German football.
Like Hansa Rostock, Erzgebirge Aue play in 3. Liga and the Gers boss may be at the game on a surprise scouting mission.
Rohl has shown faith in Ryan Naderi at Ibrox and the manager may now be keeping an eye on other players in Germany’s lower leagues.

Who could Danny Rohl scout for Rangers?
Lukas Eixler has been a standout player for FSV, providing 20 goal contributions this season in all competitions.
The 22-year-old German attacker has mostly played just behind the number nine as a second striker this season and could potentially be someone Rohl may be looking at.

For Erzgebirge Aue, 22-year-old Tristan Zobel has been a regular fixture at centre-back, having signed on loan from SC Paderborn.
Austrian right-back Pascal Fallmann has also stood out at the 3. Liga club with three goals and seven assists, but it remains to be seen whether the Glaswegian outfit’s manager will fancy any of them to make a mark in Govan.

Rangers need to bolster their backline ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, with Emmanuel Fernandez and John Souttar the only two natural centre-backs at their disposal.
Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius will return to their parent clubs soon, leaving Rohl with a lack of options at the back.
James Tavernier’s exit not only leaves a void at right-back but also means the Gers are losing immense leadership and a big voice in the dressing room.
