Mikey Moore open to Rangers return after fruitful Ibrox loan spell

Mikey Moore has enjoyed his time at Rangers and wouldn’t mind returning for the 2026-27 season.

That’s what Mark Guidi has revealed, with the journalist knowing for a fact that the Tottenham Hotspur loanee is open to continuing his spell at the Gers.

While Spurs are expected to keep Moore, it would make sense for the Light Blues to do everything in their power to bring him back.

Danny Rohl has brought out the best in the English youngster in recent months and he’s someone the German manager could build his team around in the upcoming campaign.

Moore has become a fan favourite at Ibrox and it would certainly be a big blow if the Govan side can’t strike another deal with the North London outfit for the playmaker.

🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨

The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.

Rangers have Mikey Moore dilemma after exit

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 21 May, Guidi said, “I would imagine Spurs would want to keep him, but I know for sure Moore has enjoyed it up here and is really bought into the whole thing and wouldn’t be averse to coming back.”

In the last two transfer windows, the Gers signed six players on loan in total who are now set to return to their parent clubs.

The Light Blues are clearly left with another summer of rebuilding the squad and they can’t continue to afford to repeat it.

While the Light Blues should be thrashing out a deal for the Tottenham star as soon as possible, they must ensure it’s a permanent one.

The Glaswegian outfit need stability and security going forward and signing Moore for a relatively significant transfer fee will surely be better in the long term.

Any offer could include a sell-on fee and a buy-back clause to sweeten it for Spurs, but another loan would just leave the Govan side in the same position next year, which wouldn’t be ideal.

Danny Rohl must have learned one lesson at Ibrox

Rohl must have certainly realised that he needs to rely on the youngsters at Rangers more than he has.

Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez kept John Souttar out of the starting lineup in the last few months, while Dujon Sterling was preferred over James Tavernier.

Moore has pulled the strings for the Glaswegian outfit in the final third and Findlay Curits should have been relied on instead of being sent on loan to Kilmarnock.

Rohl should build his team around young prospects, ideally Scottish, to achieve sustainable success in Govan.
