Rangers have got first summer decision right as Andreas Skov Olsen set to depart
Rangers will need a big summer window to improve their Scottish Premiership prospects, and the latest decision on Andreas Skov Olsen is a strong step in that direction.
A lot has been said about the Bears’ transfer market activity since the ending of the season, with both manager Danny Rohl and chairman Andrew Cavenagh issuing strong statements.
The German has publicly called for more leaders to be brought to Ibrox, while Cavenagh has insisted Rangers will focus on Scottish players.
The 49ers have not been shy to get active, and the arrival of Skov Olsen and many others in the winter window was proof.
Now, the first major transfer decision for Rangers has been made for next season.

Rangers to make decision on Andreas Skov Olsen
Skov Olsen did not have the desired impact that his arrival intended to provide after making the switch from Wolfsburg.
The Dane came to Ibrox with a big reputation in the Bundesliga and could only ever show glimpses of quality in Glasgow.

Luckily, Skov Olsen only joined the Govan-based outfit on loan. This means the Gers are not left to keep a player that has struggled.
Rangers did have an option to buy the winger, but they are no longer going to trigger that ahead of the summer window.
That is according to Rangers Review. They state that Skov Olsen will ultimately not be part of Rohl’s squad next season.

Rangers make correct decision on Andreas Skov Olsen
The decision to get rid of Skov Olsen, if reports are true, is ultimately the right decision for both the player and Rangers.
It is a move that has not worked out for either party, and triggering the option to buy at this stage would have been a major risk for the G51 outfit.
Perhaps with time Skov Olsen could have become one of the many Ibrox greats, but with the Bears looking to defeat the Celtic reign in the Scottish Premiership, sometimes these kinds of risks can be too great.
Heading into the transfer window, it is clear that wide areas will be a priority now for Rangers. Mikey Moore’s loan has ended, and now Skov Olsen looks set to depart too.
Hopefully, the ownership does not leave it too late when it comes to replacements. Allowing whoever comes in time to settle and get a strong pre-season under their belt could prove vital.
