Rangers boss Danny Rohl has been suggested to have had a heated clash with chairman Andrew Cavenagh after the full-time whistle when Gers were beaten 2-1 by Hearts.

The Bears’ loss to Hearts at Tynecastle all but ended their hopes of winning the Scottish Premiership, and controversy is still surrounding the fixture despite the season now being over.

Rangers took the lead in the game through Dujon Sterling’s looping effort before goals from Stephen Kingsley and Lawrence Shankland kept the Jambos’ title hopes alive.

Backlash came for the Gers boss after the game, with it being a consecutive league loss after the break, and the penultimate dagger in the title chase.

Information is still coming from the fixture, and now there are suggestions that Rohl shouted at his Rangers chairman, Cavevangh, while in the tunnel after defeat at Tynecastle.

There have been growing rumours of Rangers sacking their head coach since the season ended so sourly, with fans saying the scar tissue is too great to heal.

Wolfsburg have also been linked with a move for Rohl, to which Cavenagh has since come out to publicly back his head coach.

However, some have suggested the backing could be a strategic move to force the German side into paying compensation for his services, instead of the Light Blues having to pay to sack him.

While that’s far-fetched, STV News broadcaster, presenter and Scotsman Callum Bell appears to have inside knowledge on what went down at Tynecastle.

Bell said, while speaking on The Radio Football Show: “I know this for a fact, in the tunnel at Tynecastle when Rangers lost that game, he [Rohl] was shouting at his chairman of the club [Cavenagh], saying ‘you need to get me leaders’.

“If I know that, the players know that.”

Rangers fans will have split opinions on this, but one thing they may agree on is the potential that Rohl is right in what he’s asking for.

James Tavernier’s fallout with Rohl is well-documented, and it’s pretty clear that the player and the manager were in disagreement last week.

The Rangers boss decided to pick the club captain to start on the bench in the home defeat to Hibernian, but the latter stormed out of Ibrox prior to kick-off.

Tavernier then returned to say his goodbye and farewell to Rangers fans, who have questioned the right-back throughout this season, as has Rohl.

There have also been unconfirmed whispers of Nicolas Raskin’s recent absence being a possible cover-up for another fallout with Rohl.

The Rangers boss clearly doesn’t hide away from showing his emotions behind the scenes, and his stern words with Cavenagh, if true, could do a whole lot of explaining.
