Ryan Stephenson tells Rangers to sack Danny Rohl – ‘He has failed’
Ryan Stephenson believes that Rangers should sack Danny Rohl.
The German manager is under pressure at Ibrox after a dismal run, in which his side won just one of their five post-split matches.
That saw them out of title contention, and ultimately finishing third in the Scottish Premiership, which is not good enough.
The 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh face a tough call, whether to keep Rohl or to move in a different direction, and repeat the cycle.
Stephenson was adamant that Rangers have to dismiss Rohl, and start afresh for the new season, speaking after the season concluded.

What did Stephenson say about Rohl’s future at Rangers?
Rohl’s position at Rangers looks precarious, despite assurances that he has supposedly received from the ownership.
Stephenson thinks told the Gers that sacking the 37-year-old is the answer, highlighting how he dealt with the James Tavernier situation and his tactical struggles in the last few games.

Asked whether Rohl should remain in charge on BBC Sportscene on 16 May, he said: “No, I think Rangers finishing third, straight away you are under pressure, the money they have spent you should be under pressure.
“The Tavernier situation in the week, going into the split, he has failed tactically.”
“For me, it would be the right call if they did part company.”
Why the decision is not easy for the ownership
The majority ownership face their most pivotal summer in charge of the Govan club so far, as if they fail to get it right, it could set the Light Blues back even further.
Rohl has a pretty solid record, with 22 wins, seven draws and 11 losses in 40 matches, and there is an argument to be made that he could have won the league had he been in the role at the start of the season.
He has also not had the time to build his own squad, and the summer transfer window would allow him to add the personalities that he wants.

| Matches | 40 |
| Won | 22 |

It is also a risk bringing in a new manager, and then it all goes wrong, and they are left with egg on their faces if Rohl succeeds elsewhere.
However, on the other side of the coin, when it mattered, the results were not good enough, and his side crumbled easily when they could have went on to win the division.
His man management has come into question recently too, with his fallout with Tavernier threatening to have an even deeper impact.
It is a very tricky scenario for the hierarchy to navigate, knowing the implications if they make the wrong decision.
