David Edgar shares what he’s heard about James Tavernier as he reacts to Rangers bust-up
David Edgar has spoken out after James Tavernier walked out on Rangers before the clash with Hibernian on Wednesday.
The Gers are preparing for their final game of the season at Ibrox after an Old Firm defeat last time out ended their title hopes.
There is absolutely nothing at stake for the hosts as they welcome Hibs to Govan in the penultimate Scottish Premiership game of the season.
The only talking point ahead of the outing in G51 was the reaction to their captain’s final home game before he departs at the end of the campaign.
Rangers are set to face Hibernian in what looked to be Tavernier’s last ever clash at Ibrox, but an argument with Danny Rohl has spoiled that.

James Tavernier and Danny Rohl clash at Rangers
The Govan club have nothing to play for in the Scottish Premiership with no chance of moving up or down the table in the final two games.
That meant all eyes were on a farewell tour for the right-back after 11 years as a regular and true star man for the Gers.

Although it was a blow not to see his career out in G51 with a second Premiership title, there was still time to give him a deserved goodbye.
That won’t be the case now after Rohl left him out of the matchday squad entirely for the clash with Hibernian on Wednesday.
Edgar has now reported via X that the Englishman clashed with the Ibrox head coach and has pulled out of the side to face David Gray’s side.
He said: “Word is James Tavernier withdrew from the squad following a disagreement with Danny Rohl. A sad way for it to end.”
Tavernier and Rohl have clashed at Rangers, and it has ultimately ruined what should have been a chance for the skipper to wave goodbye to Ibrox.

The blockbuster breaking news has emerged with less than an hour remaining until kick-off against Hibs, catching everyone by surprise.
Edgar has suggested that it was a “disagreement” between the two parties, but the Scottish Sun have made it out to be much worse than that.
They have reported a “sensational” behind-the-scenes verbal argument in Govan that led the captain to walk out.
Tavernier reportedly discovered he was on the bench against Hibernian, and he clearly took issue with that.
His wife and children were reportedly set to attend Ibrox to watch his farewell fixture, but the plug has been pulled on what should have been a night to remember for the right reasons.
