Danny Rohl response in Rangers presser clear, he’s here to stay amid Wolfsburg links
Rangers won’t be worried about losing Danny Rohl to VfL Wolfsburg ahead of next season.
The German manager has admitted that he’s fully focused on the job at hand at the Gers and is looking forward to lifting trophies in the foreseeable future.
Rohl has emerged as a contender for the Wolfsburg job and the situation around him at Ibrox feels uncertain after back-to-back losses to Motherwell and Hearts.
Despite what has been reported in the press over the last few days, it appears the 37-year-old head coach has no intention of leaving Ibrox anytime soon.
Rohl has given Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises something to look forward to after bringing the Govan side into title contention this season and it would be surprising to see him get replaced in the summer.

Dany Rohl could be out of job at Rangers
Speaking in the pre-match press conference before the Celtic game on 10 May, Rohl said, “The message for my players after the game was just to focus on the next game. I was disappointed after Monday, as we had worked so hard for the last six months to get to this point. My full focus is on Rangers, as I have one focus: to win trophies and bring success to the club.”
Fans in G51 have grown increasingly frustrated with the German manager after some underwhelming performances against Hearts and Motherwell.
The Gers had the title race in their hand before the first post-split game, but have seen their chances of winning the William Hill Premiership drastically go down.
| Competition | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |
| William Hill Premiership | 27 | 18 | 6 | 3 |
| Europa League | 6 | 1 | 1 | 4 |
| Premier Sports Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 |
| Scottish Gas Scottish Cup | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 |
It would now take a miracle for Rohl to get the Light Blues to the top by the end of the season and another trophyless campaign beckons in Govan.
If the former Sheffield Wednesday boss can’t get the better of Martin O’Neill at Parkhead, the Light Blues’ support in favour of replacing him will surely grow over the coming days.
Andrew Cavenagh must take some responsibility at Ibrox
Cavenagh and the 49ers got off to an abysmal start at Rangers after deciding to appoint Russell Martin as manager and Kevin Thelwell as sporting director.
While the former Southampton boss’ tenure was a disaster, the ex-Everton chief’s recruitment strategy arguably set the Gers back considerably.

Martin and Thelwell were out through the door by the end of November, but the Light Blues’ winter transfer window signings haven’t really had the desired impact in Govan.
Rohl will take the brunt of criticism from the Ibrox faithful, but the American owners haven’t given the German manager the platform to succeed this season.
