Nasser Djiga reacts as out-of-window exit announced for Rangers colleague

Nasser Djiga was among the Rangers players to take to social media as some out-of-window transfer news was announced.

The Gers were active both in last summer’s transfer window and in the winter, adding Andreas Skov Olsen, Ryan Naderi, Tuur Rommens and Tochi Chukwuani in the latter.

Many players have also moved on over the past 12 months, whether temporarily or indeed permanently.

And even though the transfer window is technically shut, some emergency business can be conducted until the campaign ends.

That is the case for Rangers, who have now waved goodbye to a player for the time being.

🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨

The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.

Goalkeeper heads for Ibrox loan exit

Danny Rohl‘s entire focus right now is on Rangers’ bid to overhaul Hearts and Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The German has a fairly settled group to choose from, with Jack Butland quite literally the first name on the teamsheet each week.

Butland certainly has his critics at Rangers, with some suggestions that a new number one could be recruited in the summer – possibly Sheffield Wednesday’s Pierce Charles.

For now, though, Rohl needs to rely on Butland. That means others watching on from either the substitutes’ bench or the stands.

That has been the case for Kieran Wright, who has now been given the chance to play some first-team football elsewhere.

As confirmed by both the Gers on Thursday, Wright has joined Kilmarnock on an emergency loan deal running for an initial seven days.

That will mean Wright plays against Dundee United at Ayr Park on Saturday.

Wright will wear the number 30 shirt for Killie and, while it is only a short-term move, it is certainly better than playing no football at all.

A number of good luck messages were sent to Wright on Rangers’ Instagram post confirming the move, with Djiga among those to ‘like’ it.

Kieran Wright set for 10th Rangers loan exit

Now aged 27, Wright has been on the Gers’ books for more than a decade but has yet to get his first-team chance.

Nor is he likely to. The goalkeeper is due to be out of contract at Ibrox this summer and you would imagine he moves on to pastures new.

Among Wright’s 10 loan spells was a stint with Airdrieonians last season when making 16 league appearances.

You would imagine a move to a team further down the pyramid is most likely when he does call it quits in Glasgow.

Kieran Wright Rangers contract expiry

If nothing else, Wright will likely have a bonus game to make an impression this weekend for Kilmarnock.

And if he catches the eyes, that will only do him good when the transfer window opens for business in a month or so.
