Rangers vs Hearts: Danny Rohl rings changes as Andreas Skov Olsen starts in title showdown

Rangers travel to Hearts on Monday knowing that three points are needed if they want to remain in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Danny Rohl has worked wonders to get back in contention, but could throw it away at the final hurdle after the 3-2 defeat against Motherwell last time out at Ibrox.

Hearts are currently four points ahead of the Bears, who have dropped to third and are one point behind Old Firm rivals, Celtic.

That sets up a huge two weeks where Rangers travel to both Tynecastle and Parkhead.

Danny Rohl must make Rangers hard to beat

In recent weeks, the Light Blues have used two strikers together, but that simply hasn’t worked since Ryan Naderi’s injury.

Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski have both scored during this run, but defensively, it simply doesn’t work and leaves those in midfield overloaded.

With that in mind, Miovski will be the first to drop out of the starting XI at Tynecastle.

That will allow Nicolas Raskin to move further forward in midfield and Connor Barron to slot in alongside Tochi Chukwuani to try and win the battle in the middle of the park.

Another couple of changes will come in the final third, with Mikey Moore coming back in and Andreas Skov Olsen given a rare start on the biggest stage.

The Dane hasn’t proved his worth whatsoever in Glasgow so far, but if there were ever a time, it would be over the next week with the Scottish Premiership title on the line.

That means Thelo Aasgaard and Djeidi Gassama will drop out, with the latter always making an impact off the bench late on in games.

Defensive changes needed too at Tynecastle

Tuur Rommens has been a huge miss through injury, but the Belgian should be ready to return.

Unfortunately, Jayden Meghoma has not been able to offer the same amount of defensive security, and it’s unlikely that he will play again this season.

In the final change, John Souttar could come in alongside Emmanuel Fernandes, leaving Nasser Djiga, with the former Hearts man having a massive point to prove over his former club.

It’s now or never for Rangers and Rohl; they simply have to go to Edinburgh and win.
