Rangers: Supercomputer predicts Scottish Premiership title chances as post-split fixtures loom
Rangers will be hoping to keep their Scottish Premiership goals on track when the first of five post-split fixtures kicks off this weekend.
The Gers are just one point behind league leaders Hearts, with Celtic trailing by three points. It means that swings at the top end of the table are to be expected.
Danny Rohl’s side will begin their push for league glory by hosting Motherwell at Ibrox on 26 April, with anything but a win denting their hopes.
Rangers know that if they can win the remaining five games left this season, they will be crowned champions. There is certainly a lot of pressure building on the Glasgow outfit.
Now, the supercomputer’s latest prediction for Rangers’ title prospects could pile even more on top of the Bears.

How does the supercomputer see the Scottish Premiership title race ending?
With the season nearing an end, it does feel remarkable from a Rangers perspective that the Gers are in this position after the early months of the season.
Under Russell Martin there was no evidence that this squad was capable of going all the way in the league, but Rohl has certainly proved it was.
| Russell Martin SPFL record at Rangers | Total |
| Games | 7 |
| Wins | 1 |
| Points | 8 |

Now, the German looks set to end the season in celebration after the supercomputer’s latest title prediction.
According to the Opta supercomputer, Rangers are the favourites to lift the league title this season, coming in with a 47.2 per cent chance of finishing top.
In comparison, Hearts have been given a 33.9 per cent probability, with Celtic lowest on 18.9 per cent.
In a way, it is surprising, considering the Rangers have to travel to both Tynecastle and Celtic Park among their final five games.
However, form has shown that the Bears are on an upward trajectory, especially in terms of goalscoring, which has seemingly affected the supercomputers’ projections as well.

Rangers must focus on one game at a time
It can be easy to be dragged into talk that Rangers are favourites to win the title, but the players must remain tunnel-visioned.
Any loss could effectively rule the Gers out of the race, with the margins extremely tight at the top. This makes it important that only one game at a time is focused on.
While clashes against Hearts and Celtic will no doubt be the headline-grabbing fixtures, this weekend’s match against Motherwell is just as important.
The Ibrox outfit can put pressure on Hearts, as they kick-off this weekend before the Edinburgh side.
