Rangers fans armed with £33.7m evidence to question 49ers if Hearts achieve ridiculous title feat
Rangers fans have the right to ask what on earth the 49ers have done with finances since their arrival if Hearts win the Scottish Premiership.
The dreaded break is now here, and Gers fans have some time to relax before the final three games of the Scottish Premiership.
Lots has been said about the post-split fixtures, but if you were to ask any fans of the Light Blues back in October of last year if it’s a problem that they wanted, it would have been an opportunity snatched at.
But that is, of course, down to the poor start that the Bears had, despite the amount of money that the 49ers spent this summer.
Rangers spent big in the summer window, not to mention the winter window, and if Hearts were to win the league now, there would surely be some ire directed at Andrew Cavenagh’s way.

Hearts have used their finances better than 49ers at Rangers
According to Bloomberg, Hearts spent just £4.3million in the summer window, compared to the Bears who splashed out £38m. That’s a £33.7m difference to a club that would have never been considered title rivals this summer.
Not only that, but the accounts for the 2024-25 season showcase that the Bears earned £59.1m more than Tony Bloom’s Hearts in turnover, which is weeks away from looking like a nothing figure if the Jambos win the league.
| Player/Rangers comparison | Fee |
| Alexandros Kyziridis | Free |
| Claudio Braga | £430,000 |
| Ageu | £1.8m |
| Jordi Altena | £1m |
| Elton Kabangu | £250,000 |
| Rangers winter spending (summer) | £12m+ (£38m) |
It would look even worse for Celtic, whose turnover totalled a whopping £143.4m, a £119 difference to the current league leaders, who have clearly spent their money better in pound-for-pound value than the Hoops and Rangers.
Rangers spent big money on the likes of Youssef Chermiti, who, despite his form in front of goal recently, will be questioned due to his £8m price tag.

The matter of fact is that the 49ers could be ending this season with egg on their face for failing to distribute money efficiently, whereas a club like Hearts have.
49ers cannot use Leeds United focus as an excuse
Paraag Marathe seems to be involved more with Leeds United than he is with Rangers, but Andrew Cavenagh has full focus on the Bears.
When looking at Hearts and their data-led transfer strategy under Bloom, who also owns multiple clubs, the 49ers can’t pull out the Leeds excuse card; they simply must do better instead.
Bloom is also in full control over Premier League side Brighton, at the same time as being a minority stakeholder in Australian club Melbourne Victory and Belgium side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
But for now, there is still hope that Rangers can win the Scottish Premiership, and then go on to have a better summer transfer window this year.
