Jack Butland bailed out by Rangers teammates in Falkirk win as horrible stats emerge

Jack Butland’s teammates may have been the ones giving him a helping hand in Rangers‘ 6-3 win over Falkirk last Sunday.

The shot-stopper has been a talking point for some of the Ibrox faithful this season, especially with his age now starting to show in performances.

Gers were 2-0 down before Tochi Chukwuani’s strike gave his side a major lift, who then went on to lead the contest 4-3 at one point.

Until goals after the 70th minute, the Bears were still under pressure, and a reason for that is Butland’s display.

Danny Rohl has backed Butland as a top keeper many times already, but deep down, he may have some changing thoughts on that.

These stats prove Jack Butland wasn’t at his best vs Falkirk

Butland’s distribution has been poor this season, and that was highlighted in his game against Falkirk, where he failed to reach a Rangers player on multiple occasions.

The 33-year-old has Premier League experience, but sometimes you wouldn’t think so by looking at some of his moments.

As seen in the graphic above, Butland got a 5.7 FotMob rating, which was the lowest score for any Gers player, as he relied on his teammates to bail him out of trouble.

Rangers seem to have Butland’s replacement in the works

Butland is nearing the end of his long playing career, and that means the 49ers need to have replacement’s lined up.

Rohl seems keen on a reunion with Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles, who has been the Owls’ most impressive player once more this season.

The young sweeper shows signs of what’s needed from a modern-day goalkeeper, and offers qualities that Butland does not.

Either way, this looks like it could be Butland’s last season at Ibrox, so let’s hope he can make it a title-winning end to his Rangers story.
