Barry Ferguson has backed Andreas Skov Olsen to be a success at Rangers despite his poor start at Ibrox.

Skov Olsen was signed on an initial loan deal in the winter window, with Danny Rohl bolstering his squad with hopes of pushing for the Scottish Premiership.

The German has certainly steered the Bears in that direction, as the G51 outfit remains just one point behind Hearts.

The Danish international arrived at Ibrox with big expectations, having starred in the Bundesliga for Wolfsburg.

However, as Rangers signed Skov Olsen on loan, the Dane has not had much impact on the Gers’ rise towards the top of the table, with questions raised as to whether a permanent move should be sanctioned.

Amid Rangers’ injuries to both Ryan Naderi and Tuur Rommens, Ferguson insists he would not be surprised if Skov Olsen finally shows his quality in the final six games.
