Rangers: Steven Gerrard gushes over ‘phenomenal’ Danny Rohl as title race hots up
Rangers have gone from strength to strength since the appointment of Danny Rohl, with Steven Gerrard left more than impressed.
The German was an option for the Gers in the summer, but he ultimately turned down the role before Russell Martin came in.
Things obviously went badly under the ex-Southampton boss, leaving the door open for another head coach to come in.
He eventually confirmed his move to Ibrox and has gone on to drag the Ibrox club into a Scottish Premiership title race with Hearts.
Everything is going well for Rohl right now at Rangers as a first league win since Gerrard’s days in charge looms.

Steven Gerrard makes feelings clear on Danny Rohl
Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Michael Beale, Philippe Clement and Martin have all been in charge since the ex-England international left, but the title hasn’t returned to Govan.
Everything just clicked under the Liverpool legend, and neither party have really kicked on since parting company in 2021.

| Rangers | 65 | 2.2 |
It finally looks as if the Light Blues have found their feet and could secure the Scottish Premiership this campaign.
A title shootout with Hearts is on the cards moving into the post-split fixtures, with just one point separating the two.

That has left Ally McCoist stunned on talkSPORT as he asked Gerrard what he made of Rohl as Ibrox boss right now.
The Rangers icon said: “What about the title race? It’s unbelievable. Danny Rohl, even if Rangers don’t win it, how he has managed to get Rangers back within a chance of winning it is remarkable.”
Gerrard was quick to respond, “He’s been phenomenal. What was it, 13 points? He’s come in and said all the right things. He’s signed good players, and he’s been immaculate.”
Rohl can still win the Scottish Premiership with Rangers as he goes in search of glory with the Gers after his mid-season move.
How can Rohl reach Gerrard’s level at Rangers?
There’s no doubt that the Anfield great is one of the best managers the Gers have had in recent memory.
No one else has quite gotten the same work rate out of a side at Ibrox and certainly hasn’t reached the pinnacle of winning the league.
A Europa League final under van Bronckhorst was certainly a massive achievement, but now the good times of that period are nearly four years old.
A new dawn is underway with Rohl, and if he can win the title this season, he will approach the levels of Gerrard already.

To take a step above the Englishman, maintaining that level will be what matters rather than letting Celtic back in to steal the limelight once again.
It is an interesting period for Rangers, but it is great to see Gerrard speak so glowingly about Rohl.
