Rangers could pull off double heist on Hearts as Lawrence Shankland transfer possible
Rangers could pip Hearts to the Scottish Premiership title before shortly stealing a long-admired Lawrence Shankland from Tynecastle Park.
The Bears have come close to signing Shankland on several occassions, most recently being linked with him in the summer as chances of a winter move were shut down.
Gers are currently one point behind the Jambos in the league, as the post-split fixtures have now been revealed for the remaining six games of the season.
Danny Rohl’s side are gaining momentum by the week, with pressure on Hearts still there present.
Rangers could go back in for Lawrence this summer with another league title to their name, as the 49ers know there may be some movement in the forward area.

It would be no surprise to learn that Rangers are still keeping tabs on Shankland, who has been a consistent goalscorer in Scotland for years now.
For whatever reason, fate has prevented the 30-year-old from making a move to Ibrox, but there’s a chance that it could finally happen this summer, in the most cruel way from a Hearts perspective.

Rangers are braced for interest in Youssef Chermiti, the man they brought to Glasgow not long ago for £9million, with PSV currently monitoring the 21-year-old.
With that being said, the 49ers and Stig Igne Bjornebye will be working closely to ensure that they have replacements lined up, if Chermiti were to leave.
Ryan Naderi is someone who is already Scottish Premiership ready, with room to grow, and someone with Shankland’s experience could be a perfect addition to compete with the German.
It would mean stealing the title from Hearts, as well as their beloved striker, all in a short space of time.
What has Derek McInnes said about Shankland?
Derek McInnes will surely be worried that Rangers could pip his side, despite the league leaders having sat in first place for practically all of this season.
The Hearts boss has also made his appreciation for Shankland public, and was delighted to tie him down until 2027 with a new deal after Rangers were said to be interested last summer.
Before the number nine extended his stay, McInnes spoke on how he believes Shankland can score 20 plus goals a season.
McInnes said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun in May 2025: “If we’ve got an opportunity to keep him then we should, because he’s Scottish and he gives you 20-odd goals a season.
“He could maybe get more than that if you give him the right service and get him closer to goal.”
Shankland could once again be on Rangers’ radar this summer.
