Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo all smiles on social media as Ibrox exit now hours away
Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo was all smiles on social media ahead of his impending exit.
Ibrox News reported on Monday that the Wales international is set to finalise terms with Norwegian outfit SK Brann ahead of the Eliteserien transfer deadline on Tuesday night.
Undergoing a medical in the Wales international camp, Matondo is set to join up with his new club later this week, with Brann winless across their first two league matches this term.
Despite the excitement following his arrival, the winger has failed to get going throughout his time at Ibrox – making just one league appearance this season as Rangers fight for the title.
With Matondo’s exit all but confirmed, the 25-year-old’s Instagram reaction shows him to be all smiles.

Rabbi Matondo takes to Instagram as Rangers exit nears
Currently on international duty with Wales, the respective clubs and player have had to find a workaround to seal his exit.
Craig Bellamy’s side would see their World Cup dreams go up in smoke last Thursday, with Wales losing out to Bosnia and Herzegovina on penalties in the play-off semi-finals.
| Competition | Appearances | Minutes played |
| William Hill Premiership | 1 | 1 |
| Scottish Gas Scottish Cup | 2 | 64 |
With Matondo’s Rangers exit nearing, the Gers are set to include a sell-on clause and possible bonuses to release the winger from his contract three months early.
The winger has not featured for the Gers since February, when he arrived off the bench in the 8-0 Scottish Cup win against Queen’s Park.
Taking to Instagram on Monday evening, Matondo posted an image of himself and teammates in training for Wales.
Showing smiles all-round, it certainly seems to be the case that the former wonderkid is more than happy with his pending move – a deal that is the best-case scenario for all parties involved.
Rabbi Matondo has failed to get going for Rangers
Despite racking up some memorable moments during his time at the club, things have just not gone right at Rangers for Matondo.
Joining the club in 2022, he has scored just eight Scottish Premiership goals for the club, with his Sofascore graphic below highlighting his underperformance when it comes to the numbers.

He has managed multiple Wales call-ups this term, despite making just one appearance in the league, though even then he has failed to feature regularly.
Rangers find themselves in a title race, sitting just three points behind league leaders Hearts, but Matondo just has not been required throughout the campaign.
The club will be looking to continue building under Danny Rohl heading into the summer, and it is clear that the 25-year-old was not going to be involved in that.
After a disappointing time at the club, a move is simply best for all parties.
