Rangers’ Luke Graham transfer wish isn’t all bad news in the desire for Nasser Djiga deal
Rangers are said to be advancing in a deal to bring Dundee FC centre-back to Ibrox this summer, which may leave Nasser Djiga’s future up in the air.
Andrew Cavenagh is reportedly personally involved in signing Graham, who Dundee FC rejected an offer of £1million for in the winter window.
Celtic are also interested in the defender, but Gers’ seemingly persistent wish for his signature may lure him Ibrox in a couple of months.
Djiga will be heading back to Wolves at the end of the season, who are bound for Premier League relegation, as the loanee will most likely want to play at a higher level than England’s second tier.
Rangers don’t have a buy option in Djiga’s deal, but it’s now clear that a deal for him isn’t off the table, with the mooted plan to loan Graham back to his current Scottish Premiership employers.
🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨
The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
Is Luke Graham ready to play for Rangers yet?
Keith Jackson has reason to believe that the Bears would send Graham straight back to Dens Park if they were able to get a deal over the line.
The 22-year-old has had his breakout season this campaign, and his brilliance can be seen just from a sample of his last five matches.
| Game | Result | Sofascore rating |
| Hearts vs Dundee | 1-0 Loss | 7.4 |
| Dundee vs Dundee United | 2-2 Draw | 7.7 |
| Dundee vs Motherwell | 2-1 Win | 8.2 (MOTM) |
| Dundee vs Hibernian | 3-3 Draw | 7.4 |
| Aberdeen vs Dundee | 3-2 Win | 6.3 |
Rangers have been backed to sign Djiga for £6m after the centre-half has seemingly completed a full turnaround at Ibrox this season.
His former side, Red Star Belgrade, are said to be interested in re-signing him, and would have to pay 10 per cent less than any fee the Gers pay to Wolves, given they included a sell-on clause in his contract.
Some may be worried that because Gers are looking to sign Graham, they may not be after Djiga, but loaning the former back to Dundee would still leave Danny Rohl in need of an extra centre-back.

As highlighted by Sofascore, in the graphic above, Graham has interestingly outperformed Djiga’s rating by 0.03 in the league, which may raise the question on if a loan exit would actually be needed.
Was Steven Pressley being evasive on Rangers’ interest in Graham?
Dundee FC manager Steven Pressley spoke to the media recently about the reported interest in Graham, claiming the Bears and Celtic never made their feelings known in January.
That’s not exactly the case, but the Gers have been smart to only let their intentions be known now.

Rangers can now assess Graham’s performances from now until the end of the season, and decide on whether they want to put their foot on the gas or not.
But it does look like the defender is now emerging as a top target of the 49ers.
