Instead, the Gers opted to send the Scottish star on loan to Kilmarnock in the winter transfer window, where he’s now thriving, with Steve Clarke giving the youngster a call-up to the national side.
Djeidi Gassama has been the German manager’s preferred option on the wings this season, featuring in every William Hill Premiership game for the Light Blues, but he’s had a massive dip in form.
Curtis has a bright future at Ibrox and the Glaswegian outfit may regret letting him go to Killie in January.

Findlay Curtis season in numbers at Kilmarnock vs Djeidi Gassama at Rangers
AS Monaco wanted Gassama in the winter transfer window, but the Gers rejected a £10million offer for the Mauritania international, highlighting their faith in him.
Gassama has made 31 appearances in the league this season, scoring two goals, providing three assists and creating four big chances, as per Sofascore.
The 22-year-old has a 77 per cent passing accuracy, shot 16 times on target, missed five big chances and completed 53 dribbles.
Curtis has an average Sofascore rating of 7.23 at Kilmarnock in the William Hill Premiership after seven appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
The 19-year-old has recorded 71 per cent passing accuracy, completed 10 key passes, created three big opportunities and completed 11 dribbles.
Curtis has also shown a different dimension to his game playing at right-back for Killie, winning 18 tackles, making seven interceptions and blocking two shots.
Danny Rohl has clear Findlay Curtis summer priority
Curtis will undoubtedly return to Rangers in high spirits at the end of the season, with a chance of featuring for Scotland at the 2026 World Cup.
Rohl must utilise the young winger more in the upcoming campaign and stop relying on the likes of Andreas Skov Olsen and Oliver Antman over him.
Speaking on Open Goal on 26 March, Gordon Dalziel said, “There’s not a chance in the world I would’ve let Curtis go and keep Gassama as the number one wide player. I would’ve had him in the Rangers team.”
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Curits, but the Ibrox faithful will want to see a homegrown talent get his deserved opportunity in Govan.
