Lyall Cameron: 10 games in and Rangers career may already be over
Lyall Cameron is on course to go down as one of Rangers‘ most baffling signings.
Rangers had a huge recruitment overhaul in the summer, and with Danny Rohl having led his side to be within three points of the summit of the table, it certainly prevailed.
However, not all of those who arrived at Ibrox have proved their worth, and Cameron is certainly up towards the top of the list.
The 23-year-old made just 10 appearances for the Light Blues before being shipped out on loan to Aberdeen, with Cameron’s future at Rangers now looking bleak.

Lyall Cameron stats showcase harsh reality
There was an air of excitement when Rangers sealed the signing of Cameron, given the impressive form he demonstrated with Dundee just last season.
The 23-year-old scored 14 goals and registered 11 assists across all competitions, though it wasn’t enough to earn him a spot in the PFA Team of the Year.
| Scottish Premiership 25-26 | Cameron |
| Appearances | 14 |
| Goals/assists | 0 |
| Big chances created | 1 |
| Duel win rate | 44.3% |
| Dribbled past | 12 |
But since his move to Ibrox, he hasn’t shown an ounce of that quality, and that has continued into his time with the Dons.
Cameron has failed to grab a goal or an assist in the 779 minutes of league football he has played this season, with his only goal involvement coming in the Champions League of all competitions.
Rangers are likely to add even more quality to their midfield this summer, which will do nothing but push Cameron even further down the pecking order.
What’s next for Cameron at Rangers?
Depending on how he fares for the rest of the season, Rangers may opt to loan him out again.
However, with the midfielder turning 24 later this year, it would perhaps make little sense to do so, and the Light Blues may look to cash in on him.
After just appearances in the famous blue shirt, we may have already seen the last of Cameron, making the buzz around his signing quite baffling in hindsight.
