Tuur Rommens and Mikey Moore have formed an unexpected partnership that Rangers can’t lose

Tuur Rommens arrival may have brought out the best in Mikey Moore, because the partnership they now have at Rangers is clear to see.

The left-back arrived after a winter influx of new signings, but he, alongside Tochi Chukwuani have been the two that have impressed most at Ibrox.

Moore is now starting to see the benefit of Rommens on the pitch, with Danny Rohl’s left-hand side arguably the biggest threat Rangers carry.

Rommens had a small injury scare recently, but was deemed fit enough to start in the 4-1 win against Aberdeen, where he and the Tottenham loanee excelled once more.

Rangers want to sign Moore permanently and know how hard it’ll be to get a deal done, but the emergence of his relationship with Rommens gives the 49ers all the more reason to pull it off.

Rangers are undefeated when Tuur Rommens and Mikey Moore play together

Rohl hasn’t ruled out the possibility of signing Moore permanently if the opportunity is right, which gives the Ibrox faithful more reason to believe ahead of the summer window.

The winger also has an open mind of an extended stay at Ibrox, but it feels like both parties understand that finances will be the biggest stumbling block in negotiations between Rangers and Spurs.

Rangers in SPFL when starting both Rommens and Moore on the left

When starting both Rommens and Moore on the left in the Scottish Premiership, the Bears are still undefeated.

There have been times when the pair have started on the pitch together, like the 2-2 draw against Livingston, but Moore was positioned centrally.

It’s clear as day that Rohl’s best combination is to play the duo together on the left, as it’s only a partnership that can continue to blossom in Glasgow for years, should the 49ers keep Moore at Ibrox.

This is why Rommens has been Rangers’ signing of the winter

Rommens didn’t carry the same amount of hype behind him that the likes of Ryan Naderi, Andreas Skov Olsen, and Chukwuani did, but being a defender, it’s understandable.

The Belgian was a low multi-million-pound investment that could yet carry Rangers to glory in years to come, but as far as this season goes, he’s been instrumental for more than one reason.

As highlighted by Sofascore in the graphic above, Moore’s performance against Aberdeen before the break was the most recent example of how the winger has benefited from Rommens’s presence since the latter’s arrival.

It was the display which once again sparked conversation about Gers signing the Tottenham star permanently this summer, and it’s a mystery whether he would have performed that well, had Rommens been absent.
