Finn Geragusian: Sunderland starlet is £173k no-brainer for Rangers amid Ibrox transfer link
Finn Geragusian has been linked with a move to Rangers, as Sunderland face reportedly growing interest in the forward.
Whilst Danny Rohl’s eyes will firmly be on the present and his sides’ Scottish Premiership title push, Ibrox transfer chiefs have an obligation to always look towards the future.
Some good work has been done in the transfer market this season at Gers, with the likes of Tuur Rommens, Youssef Chermiti, Mikey Moore and Emmanuel Fernandez all home run hits.
As such, there will be a confidence from within the club that their current recruitment strategy and talent identification process is strong, and it will need to be if they’re to start winning league titles consistently again in the coming years.
The upcoming summer transfer window looks set to be another ambitious one at Rangers, but not every future first-team star arrives at a new club to great fanfare.

How has Finn Geragusian been doing at Sunderland?
One of those who could experience that in Glasgow is Geragusian, who has been linked with a move to Rangers.
According to an X post from Daily Mail reporter Craig Hope on Saturday, who is based in the North East of England, Sunderland are preparing for a fight to retain the services of their highly-rated 18-year-old forward.

Rangers and Nottingham Forest have both been credited as showing an interest in the Armenian international, whilst other sides from the Premier League and across Europe are also reportedly monitoring his situation.
Hope reports that due to Geragusian being on a scholarship contract with Sunderland, he can leave for €200,000 euros/£173,000 pounds to non-English clubs, meaning Rangers could be primed for a bargain buy.
A left-footed striker by trade, the Armenian has been turning heads in Sunderland’s academy system over the last few years, consistently scoring and creating goals, and looks like a real exciting talent.

The teenager was recently on the Sunderland first-team bench for their FA Cup defeat at Port Vale on 8 March, and has been a regular in Premier League 2 for the Black Cats’ Under-21s since 2024-25.
So, with him potentially available for as little as £173,000, the upside to signing Geragusian could be huge for Rangers, with the strength in depth in the centre-forward ranks behind Chermiti somewhat uncertain at the moment.
Geragusian would fit Rangers mold of a powerful striker
Rangers have clearly put a focus on signing big, physical strikers recently, with Chermiti, Bojan Miovski and Ryan Naderi all comfortably over six-feet tall.
Geragusian would fit that profile too, as the Armenian stands well over six-feet too despite his tender age, and is a bruising-yet-skilful player, who has shown a bit of a penchant for a worldie too.
So, with some top clubs evidently sweet on signing him, Rangers should look to take full advantage of that FIFA non-English transfer bargain opportunity.
There would be very little risk attached to the deal, and looking at his scoring exploits for Sunderland and how highly-rated and thought of he clearly is on Wearside, this could have the potential to be one of Gers’ best bargain buys.
