Rangers transfer target Elijah Just dubbed ‘best player in league’, 49ers may face a premium price
Rangers‘ interest in Motherwell forward Elijah Just has become too loud, and now the 49ers are at risk of overpaying for his signature this summer.
The Bears have been credited as one Scottish Premiership club alongside Celtic, who are monitoring the progress of Just at Motherwell.
It is believed that should the New Zealand star keep performing until the end of the season, then the 49ers will look into making a bid for the attacker.
Rangers have Andreas Skov Olsen on their books, but it’s also been suggested that Just could be his replacement, should the former not come good in light blue.
Much was said about the 49ers’ spending in the summer, and they won’t be let off if they end up overpaying for the versatile forward.

Rangers will have to weigh up a move for Just with all factors like who could leave Ibrox this summer, and who else the 49ers have on their transfer wishlist.
A transfer swoop for Just initially seemed like a financially achievable one on paper, despite his fantastic form in the Scottish Premiership this season.

However, his New Zealand boss, Darren Bazeley, has been talking about the Gers’ transfer target, and may have just added further value to the Motherwell star’s name.
Bazeley said, as quoted by the Daily Record on Friday: “He actually looks like the best player in the league at the moment. It was actually another player in the league who told me that, and I thought that was really, really great to hear.
“He [Just] texted me the other day to say he was a bit sore after his last game at Celtic, but should be fine for Motherwell’s next match.”
His price is surely rocketing as we speak. That’s not to say that the Bears shouldn’t sign him, but they need to be careful of overpaying now.
What is Just’s current market value?
Just is unsurprisingly gaining interest from the likes of Rangers and their Old Firm rivals, as he looks set for a place in the Scottish Premiership’s Team of the Year at this rate.
The attacking midfielder only arrived in Scotland last summer, after completing a reported £390,000 move to Motherwell from Austrian second division side, SKN St. Polten, though that’s not official.
As highlighted by Transfermarkt, Just’s value is now at £1.27 million, and that’s not taking into consideration things like add-on costs, but there’s a good chance that this fee will soon be updated.
The only saving grace is that he’s contracted to Fir Park until the summer of 2027, which could bring his overall price down in negotiations.
