Djeidi Gassama: Rangers winger’s contract situation amid Ibrox exit links
Djeidi Gassama’s contract situation means that he is unlikely to leave Rangers anytime soon.
The 22-year-old was linked with a move to Monaco in the winter transfer window, with the French club reportedly offering a loan-to-buy deal worth £10million.
Rangers held firm though, and Gassama stayed in Govan, to aid Danny Rohl’s side’s Scottish Premiership title fight.
His contract runs until 2029, so Rangers have the bargaining power when it comes to a potential exit for the winger.

The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
How strong were the exit links for Gassama?
Rangers star Gassama attracted interest from multiple clubs, Monaco being the most notable, with the biggest offer.
Spanish club Villarreal was also interested in the winger, but a move never materialised beyond the speculation.
MLS clubs were also touted as potential suitors for Gassama, however, no serious interest emerged from across the pond.

Would Rangers sanction an exit?
There currently seem to be no plans to allow Gassama to depart, but that stance could change at the end of the season.
A report from Record Sport in January claimed that the Gers may have considered a sale if the price on offer was right.

Surely that is still the case, as it would allow the Auchenhowie side to make a significant profit and reinvest in the squad.
Does Gassama want to leave?
According to various reports, Gassama was happy to remain at Ibrox despite the interest in his services in the winter window.
Given that his deal is until 2029, it would take a significant offer to get him out of Govan, even if he did want to leave in the future.
There have been no indications that he is desperate to leave when the market reopens, at the moment, although that could change in the summer.
Why is it a win-win situation for Rangers?
No matter what happens with Gassama, it is a win-win situation for the Light Blues.
They either keep the player for the long-term and he continues to shine, or they make a hefty profit on him and can use the money to buy more talent.
Gassama has eight goals and four goals in 48 matches so far this season, which is not a bad return at all, and he could go up a level next season, if he sticks around.
