Elijah Just: Scottish football experience hands Rangers advantage in transfer race
Elijah Just’s experience in the Scottish Premiership has been touted as a key advantage for Rangers in their hunt for the winger, according to Keith Jackson.
The New Zealand international has recently emerged as a summer target for the Ibrox outfit.
As it stands, Just is currently plying his trade for Motherwell, with this being his first season in the Scottish Premiership.
Although he is still relatively new to Scotland, he has seemingly taken the league by storm with his performances.
A transfer to Rangers could now be on the cards, and the 49ers will be delighted with what Jackson has said.

The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
What did Keith Jackson say about Elijah Just to Rangers?
This season the wingers at Ibrox have not done much to impress, with only Mikey Moore proving to be a difference maker.
The arrivals of Oliver Antman in the summer and Andreas Skov Olsen in the winter window have not had the desired impact required at the top of the Scottish Premiership, making Just an attractive signing.
| Rank | Player | Goals + Assists |
| #1 | Benjamin Nygren | 19 |
| #2 | Tawanda Maswanhise | 18 |
| #3 | Claudio Braga | 15 |
| #4 | Lawrence Shankland | 13 |
| #5 | Elijah Just | 13 |
The form of the duo makes it no surprise that the 49ers are looking to improve Danny Rohl’s options in that department, as Rangers are now linked with Just.
Journalist Jackson has now shared that both Rangers and Celtic both hold the upper hand in the race.
Speaking on Hotline Live, Jackson said: “Where Rangers and Celtic have the advantage here is they are both huge clubs.
“Elijah Just has had a season in Scottish football, he understands the scale of these clubs, the size of them, the stadiums, the support, everything that goes around the Old Firm he gets it.
“Say he was still in Denmark or New Zealand, and Rangers or Celtic came to the table, and Sheffield United came to the table, and he didn’t have any experience of what he had at Motherwell.
“I think that puts Rangers and Celtic ahead of the likely interest from the second tier of English football.”

Jackson also iterated that he does not see a Premier League move in the immediate future for Just. This further puts both Glasgow clubs in the driving seat to sign him.
Overall, that will be music to the ears of the 49ers. However, they must still convince Just of the project at Ibrox with Celtic holding the same advantage.
Why Rangers must move quick to sign Elijah Just
The managerial situation at their Glasgow rivals could be another advantage for Rangers. The uncertainty at Celtic Park makes it imperative the Gers move quickly.
If the 49ers start contract talks before they resolve that situation, they can present their project more clearly.
Additionally, with New Zealand at the World Cup, if Just continues his Scottish Premiership form on the world stage, that could both increase his value and attract more suitors.
If the winger is one of Rangers’ top targets, the club must make the deal as soon as possible ahead of next season.
