Andreas Skov Olsen contract: Everything Rangers fans need to know about winger’s situation
Andreas Skov Olsen’s situation will be one to watch at Rangers in the coming weeks.
The Danish winger was signed on loan in January, but he has not hit the heights that were expected of him at Ibrox.
The 26-year-old was supposed to be the difference maker in the Scottish Premiership title race, but he has notched just one goal and two assists in nine appearances so far.
Rangers have the option to make the deal permanent, but what do supporters need to know about the Wolfsburg star’s status.

🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨
The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
What is his contract situation?
Skov Olsen’s contract with Rangers is a loan one, which runs until 30 June 2026.
His contract with his parent club is set to expire in 2029, which means that there is little chance of a bargain free transfer.
In fact, the Gers have an option to purchase him already included, which would cost them approximately £8.6million.

The only question is, whether they will take it up, or let him go back to the Bundesliga side when his loan deal expires.
What has been said about Skov Olsen’s time at Rangers so far?
Peter Lovenkrands, the legendary former Ibrox star, who is also Danish, believes that his compatriot has struggled in Govan due to comparisons with Brian Laudrup.
He feels that the pressure placed on Danes to follow in Laudrup’s footsteps at Auchenhowie is too much and urged fans to be patient.
Speaking on 5 March, he said: “It is always the same, it is the worst thing for a Danish winger to come into Rangers and everyone expects him to be as good as Brian Laudrup, the third-best ever Danish player.
“That pressure does not help, but he has potential to be great, he has potential to be very, very good.
“He needs a game where everything clicks for him, if he gets that goal and plays a good game, that will give him confidence.”
How does Danny Rohl feel about a permanent deal?
Danny Rohl has confirmed that the Gers will not consider Skov Olsen’s future until the end of the campaign.
That suggests that he is giving him time to adapt to the Scottish game and he has seen encouraging signs in training, that the investment may ultimately be worth the Light Blues’ while.
Speaking on his long-term future, Rohl said: “I don’t have to think about this now.
“We know and we saw in moments which parts he can help us, especially in the final third.
“I think he is also very tactical, intelligent.
“You see this, but he will also agree that there is still more to come.
“This is what we try to bring out of him as soon as possible.”
The 40-cap international still has time to turn it around then, and he must use that, otherwise there is surely no chance that he will earn the permanent move to the Glasgow giants.
He has not been good enough so far, but Rohl has seemingly left the door open for him to make the switch, if he can show the form that takes the Gers to the title in the final few weeks of the campaign.
