Andrew Cavenagh can’t catch Rangers break: What Ryan Naderi struggles vs St Mirren mean for transfer plans
Ryan Naderi could potentially be in for a reckoning at Ibrox as Rangers beat St Mirren 1-0 in the William Hill Premiership on Sunday.
Danny Rohl’s team travelled to Paisley on 15 March, with Tuur Rommens scoring the only goal of the game at the SMiSA Stadium at around the half-hour mark.
Youssef Chermiti partnered the former Hansa Rostock striker up front once again, something the German manager now seems to favour at the Light Blues.
Rohl got the three points against St Mirren, and while that will be the main concern for most associated with the Glaswegian outfit, Andrew Cavenagh may have other considerations.

Ryan Naderi game by numbers as Rangers win vs St Mirren
Naderi joined the Gers in a £4.7million deal from Hansa Rostock in the final hours of the winter transfer window.
Since then, the German striker has made eight appearances in all competitions for the Light Blues, scoring two goals, both against Queen’s Park in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup.
The 22-year-old has been rather underwhelming since then, and in the forward’s 81 minutes in Paisley, he registered an xG of 0.38, had four shots on target and missed one big chance, as per Sofascore.
On the ball, Naderi was poor, completing just 65 per cent of his passes, failing to complete any of his four dribbles and losing possession 21 times.

The centre-forward could’ve done more to contribute defensively, winning just two of his 10 ground duels, six of his nine aerial duels and committing two fouls.
Andrew Cavenagh already has Ibrox summer transfer priority
Many Rangers fans had hoped Naderi would be the answer to their goalscoring problems this season, but the signs don’t look encouraging.
Chermiti has already proven he isn’t reliable in most games, with eight of his nine goals in the William Hill Premiership coming against Hearts and Celtic.

Bojan Miovski seems to have lost Rohl’s trust, with the North Macedonia international barely getting any minutes in recent weeks.
Cavenagh may have to splash the cash on another number nine at the end of the season despite spending a significant sum on three new strikers since last summer, and it feels like the Glaswegian outfit’s chairman can’t catch a break when it comes to attacking recruitment in G51.
