Rangers: This is why Danny Rohl was left in ‘fury’ with Youssef Chermiti vs St Mirren
Rangers manager Danny Rohl was left displeased with Youssef Chermiti in one first-half moment against St Mirren on Sunday.
Tuur Rommens opened the scoring to send the Gers into the break with a 1-0 lead, and the G51 outfit limped through a nervy second half for a huge three points.
The Portuguese forward was one of those who could have netted again in the opening half, but truthfully, his display left little to be happy with.
Rohl was seemingly in agreement with that, as former Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday spotted the German reacting to a frustrating moment produced by Chermiti in Rangers’ win against St Mirren.

What happened with Youssef Chermiti against St Mirren?
Chermiti and Ryan Naderi were once again frustrating to watch against St Mirren, with nothing coming off for the two centre-forwards.
The Portuguese striker missed a golden chance to put the Gers two up after 41 minutes, but the 21-year-old had his body shape all wrong with his back to goal.
However, that was not the only point of frustration with Chermiti, according to Halliday.
Speaking live via BBC Sportsound, Halliday said, “We got glimpses about a minute ago on what Danny Rohl thinks of his striker’s performance.
“The ball goes into Youssef Chermiti, he tries to do the little over, and it goes straight to a St Mirren player, and Danny Rohl’s reaction was one of fury.”
After that reaction, you would suspect that Rohl had plenty to say in the dressing room, with Nicolas Raskin also furious that he did not get a penalty.
Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi partnership not offering Rangers much hope
If Chermiti and Naderi do not start popping up with the goods that they were signed to produce, then any hopes of turning the Scottish title race around will be lost.
Rohl using both number nines at the same time has provided little to show for, and perhaps reverting back to just one or the other up top is the way to go.
- Chermiti and Naderi failed to score from a combined 0.84 xG
- Naderi took four shots, while Chermiti took one shot against St Mirren
Having an extra creative player behind one central focal point could allow the Govan-based club to begin scoring more goals.
Rohl certainly has plenty to think about in regard to his two strikers, as things clearly are not working at the moment.
For now, those at Ibrox will be relieved with the three points.
