Peterborough United agenda emerges after £30m Emmanuel Fernandez reveal at Rangers
Peterborough United are confident Rangers could potentially sell Emmanuel Fernandez for a massive transfer fee in the future.
The Sky Bet League One club’s director of football, Barry Fry, recently claimed that despite initially being ridiculed by the Gers’ supporters for demanding £3million for the centre-back, the Govan side are now reaping the benefits.
Fry believes the Light Blues can sell the 24-year-old for £30m or £40m down the line after his impressive performances in recent months.
Fernandez has been a decent addition at Ibrox, but there might be an agenda behind the English club’s recent suggestions about the defender.

Rangers may have included sell-on clause in Emmanuel Fernandez deal
Craig Moore believes the reason behind Fry’s wild statement could potentially be that Peterborough will make money from his sale at the Gers.
The former Australia international, who played as a centre-back for the Light Blues, doesn’t believe the young defender is worth the £30m mark.
Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in Fernandez, but it’s hard to see them paying anywhere near the fee mentioned by Peterborough’s chief.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 12 March, Moore said, “I imagine Barry Fry and Peterborough have a nice little sell-on clause there. He’s not worth £30m or £40m.”
While the Glaswegian outfit will be confident about getting close to an eight-figure sum for Fernandez in the coming future, it certainly won’t be a crazy fee.
If the Sky Bet League One club indeed have a sell-on clause, then the Govan side will have to be clever with their demands for the centre-back’s exit.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises set one thing right at Ibrox
Under the Gers’ previous leadership, fans in G51 were frustrated with the player trading model at Ibrox.
Rangers have lost a lot of money on players in recent years because they have been unable to cash in on them at the right time.
It looks like Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises can change that in Govan, with the likes of Fernandez, Nicolas Raskin, Djeidi Gassama and Youssef Chermiti capable of bringing in significant money for the Light Blues.
The Glaswegian outfit must surely get their recruitment right if they want to get back on top in the William Hill Premiership.
