Peter Lovenkrands names the thing that is not helping Andreas Skov Olsen at Rangers
Andreas Skov Olsen has been defended by Rangers icon Peter Lovenkrands after his struggles in Govan.
Skov Olsen was signed on loan with a £8.6million option to buy in the summer, but so far it is not looking like Danny Rohl‘s side should take that up.
Rangers have not seen the returns that they expected from the Danish star, as he has just one goal and two assists in seven matches so far.
Lovenkrands has spoken out in support of his compatriot, urging Gers fans to be patient with him for one specific reason.

What did Lovenkrands say about Skov Olsen’s Rangers woes
Lovenkrands has felt the pressure of being a Danish winger signing for the Auchenhowie side before, and he thinks the comparisons to Brian Laudrup the inievitably come from supporters are not fair.
The 46-year-old faced the same thing when he joined the Light Blues, and he believes that they do not help a player to settle in.
Speaking on 5 March, he said: “It is always the same, it is the worst thing for a Danish winger to come into Rangers and everyone expects him to be as good as Brian Laudrup, the third-best ever Danish player.
“That pressure does not help, but he has potential to be great, he has potential to be very, very good.
“He needs a game where everything clicks for him, if he gets that goal and plays a good game, that will give him confidence.”
Why Rangers pressure may now be even higher on Skov Olsen
Laudrup is, as Lovenkrands said, one of the best Danish players of all time, so to expect Skov Olsen to be on that level is not going to go well.
However, the reality is, that he is not hit the heights that were expected from a winger of his quality so far since moving to Scottish football.
No one is comparing him to Laudrup right now, after his performances, so he should be able to perform without pressure on him.
However, he may have a different type, because if he wants to earn the move to the Gers, he needs to up his levels, and that can put pressure on it itself, as he knows he needs to perform.

He was brought in as a marquee signing, who was meant to help drive Rohl’s side on to Scottish Premiership title success, but so far he has not had the required impact and they are still six points behind Hearts.
At the moment, there is no chance that they should sanction the deal to bring him in permanently, he has not shown anything to suggest that the Bears have to make the move.
