Chris Sutton immediately reacts to Rangers draw vs Celtic after dramatic finale – ‘Extraordinary’
Chris Sutton highlighted how the Old Firm clash at Ibrox was a game of two halves.
Despite going 2-0 up, Rangers had little choice but to settle for a 2-2 draw at home to Celtic on Sunday afternoon, albeit in controversial fashion.
The visitors were handed a last-minute lifeline after Dujon Sterling was judged to have handled the ball in the box, leading to the penalty which Celtic dispatched at the third time of asking.
Sutton described the game as “extraordinary” and, in typical fashion, had only good things to say about how Celtic handled the occasion.

Rangers looked set to coast to victory in the Old Firm, and that was down to two incisive goals from Youssef Chermiti.
His first saw him rise highest in the box with an overhead kick, while his second was a tidy touch to take the ball beyond Julian Araujo before prodding the ball into the back of the net for his ninth goal of the season.
But Celtic made changes at the break, and they massively influenced the proceedings in the second half, and not in a good way for as far as the Light Blues were concerned.
Reo Hatate’s introduction saw him score the equalising goal, with Sutton hailing O’Neill’s decision to bring him on when he did.
Via X, he said: “A game of two halves! Extraordinary game. Reo Hatate may have sulked all season, but he showed what a top player he can be.
“Outstanding performance, and he gave Celtic control. Fair play to him. Martin was proactive with his subs, and that was key. Great recovery from Celtic.”
What are Rangers’ title hopes after Celtic draw?
A draw was the perfect outcome for Hearts on Sunday, with the Gers now six points behind them, and Celtic two points further behind.
O’Neill’s side have a game in hand, and a win there would see them move above Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table.
Hearts have some favourable fixtures approaching, but a home encounter with Motherwell in April will be the one that Rangers look towards with hope of them dropping points.
But for Rangers, they need to get back to winning ways as a matter of urgency, having won just one of their last four in the league.
