Andrew Cavenagh will have Ryan Naderi worry after Rangers draw vs Celtic – stats show why
Rangers suffered a late heartbreak as Celtic equalised from the spot in the William Hill Premiership on Sunday.
The Ibrox faithful were in high hopes after Youssef Chermiti gave the Gers a two-goal lead before the break, but Martin O’Neill’s team made a valiant comeback in the second half.
Danny Rohl’s team selection seemed spot on before kick-off, with fans in G51 wanting to see Ryan Naderi start up top with the former Everton ace.
While the German manager’s tactics worked in the opening 45 minutes, Kiernan Tierny and Reo Hatate completed a second-half comeback for the Hoops, and Andrew Cavenagh will surely be frustrated with the performance of some of his new signings.
Ryan Naderi investment will be questioned after Rangers draw vs Celtic
Naderi’s Sofascore graphic below showcases his underwhelming performance for the Gers against Celtic, and fans will wonder whether they’ve made another recruitment error.
The Light Blues spent upwards of £10million on Chermiti and Bojan Miovski last summer and then went on to sign the German striker in the winter transfer window, and he could cost £5.2m after add-ons.
While the 22-year-old striker is a physical presence up top, he was unable to make the most of it, winning just one of his aerial 11 duels.
The striker had 25 touches in the 64 minutes he was on the pitch, registering zero shots and losing possession seven times.

It was also disappointing to see Naderi have just two defensive contributions while he struggled up top, losing all four of his ground duels.
Cavenagh may now worry whether the Glaswegian outfit will have to go into the summer again looking for a reliable number nine capable of consistently performing.
Danny Rohl surely has one unhappy camper after Celtic draw at Ibrox
With Naderi unable to make the most of his opportunities in recent weeks, Baojan Miovski must surely be wondering what he’s done wrong at Rangers.
The North Macedonia international hasn’t started in any of the Gers’ last four league games, failing to come off the bench twice.
It looks like Rohl doesn’t trust the former Girona centre-forward, but his lack of opportunities raises concerns.
Miovski arguably can’t be happy about his situation at the Glaswegian outfit, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
