Leon King contract renewal a no-brainer at Rangers after Jamestown Analytics reveal
Rangers should be doing everything in their power to keep Leon King after his loan deal with Ayr United ends.
The centre-back joined the William Hill Championship side on loan last summer and has since thrived under Scott Brown.
As things stand, the Honest Men are looking to secure a place in the play-offs for promotion to the top flight, and the Scotland Under-21 international has played a key role for them.
The 22-year-old’s current contract at the Glaswegian outfit will expire in May, but Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises may have reason to accelerate talks with the youngster over a new deal at Ibrox.
Jamestown Analytics surely involved as Hearts want Leon King after Rangers exit
Hearts have been linked with a move for King, with the Jam Tarts looking to sign the defender as a free agent.
Tony Bloom has changed the fortunes of the Jambos after his investment at Tynecastle Park in June 2025, with Derek McInnes’ team now top of the William Hill Premiership.
Hearts are looking to end the duopoly of the Old Firm in the league, and many have credited Jamestown Analytics for turning things around at the Edinburgh club.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 26 February, Charlie Mulgrew said, “It’s good to hear that. Obviously, playing at Ayr United, maybe had to take a step back and go forward, and potentially go to Hearts. That tells you that he’s shown up in Jamestown Analytics.”
The Jam Tarts identified the likes of Stuart Findlay, Oisin McEntee, Alexandros Kyziridis and Claudio Braga last summer, and if they now have King on their radar, they surely see a lot of potential in him.
It would make sense for the Glaswegian outfit to take into account the Jam Tarts’ interest in the young centre-back and secure his future at Ibrox.
Danny Rohl has another Ibrox loanee’s return to look forward to
Findlay Curtis joined Kilmarnock on loan until the end of the season in the winter transfer window, and the youngster has instantly become a key player under Neil McCann.
The Rangers loanee has played at right-back, on the wings and as a centre-forward during his time at BBSP Stadium Rugby Park, showcasing his versatility.

Rohl will surely be excited about the 19-year-old’s return to Ibrox after getting regular minutes at Killie for the rest of the campaign.
Curtis could potentially be the next big thing to come out of Auchenhowie, and his career trajectory will be worth watching closely.
