Rangers get Mikey Moore transfer answer as Tottenham expert reveals what he’s heard

Rangers’ chances of signing Mikey Moore on a permanent deal seem slim.

Rangers want to bring Moore to Ibrox for good, with the player understood to be keen to remain in Scotland, according to a report from Football FanCast on 26 February.

The report states that there have been discussions over a pre-agreement, with the Premier League outfit wanting a hefty sell-on fee and first refusal on a future transfer if they sell him to Danny Rohl‘s side.

Tottenham’s stance on a potential sale for the 19-year-old who has lit up the Scottish game, as the Sofascore graphic below shows, has now been revealed.

Would Tottenham sell Rangers loan star Mikey Moore?

Tottenham youth expert John Wenham, who runs the Lilywhite Rose account on X, believes that the Londoners will not be willing to part ways with Moore for good.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, he said: “Tottenham have always seen him as the star of their academy, the poster boy, he was heavily involved last season under Ange Postecoglou, making 20 senior appearances.

“He has now gone to Rangers on loan, massive club, big fan expectation and has absolutely delivered.

“I’m sure while Rangers would love to make it permanent, and all I am hearing is Mikey has absolutely loved that loan spell, I don’t see Tottenham authorising a permanent exit at all.

“If Rangers win the SPFL, and secure Champions League football next year, maybe another loan could be revisited if it suited all parties.

“I just cannot see Tottenham entertaining any sort of permanent departure, he is someone they have valued so highly for a number of years and has always been the reference point when discussing their academy talents.”

Why Rangers need to do everything to bring Moore back

With the idea of a permanent transfer likely ruled out, the Gers need to do everything to bring Moore back on loan, as Wenham suggests.

He has notched five goals and three assists in 36 appearances so far for the Govan outfit, but that does not tell the full impact that he has had.

His electric ability on the flanks have helped Rohl’s team to put themselves right back into the title race, and if they are to get over the line, his contributions will be vital.

With a year in Scottish football under his belt, he would likely be even more dangerous next season, if the Light Blues can find a way to bring him back.
