Rangers should be all over Luka Graham deal as transfer reveal would astonish

Rangers may finally be looking at the domestic market to improve their squad, with Dundee centre-back Luke Graham firmly on their radar.

The 22-year-old has been a key player at Dens Park as the Dark Blues look to climb further up the William Hill Premiership table.

Graham has been linked with a move to Ibrox, with Dan Purdy personally scouting the player this season.

With several teams keeping an eye on the Scotland Under-21 international, the Glaswegian outfit arguably should be all over him.

Luke Graham summer interest guaranteed amid Rangers links

Dundee technical manager David Longwell will be astonished if more teams aren’t looking to sign Graham at the end of the season.

The Dens Park chief has revealed that there’s been a lot of interest from teams down south in the centre-back, especially from the EFL Championship.

It was surprising for those associated with the Dark Blues to see a Scottish club not making a move for the young defender recently, but he may not be in the east coast of Scotland for long.

The Gers will surely need defensive reinforcements in the summer once the likes of Max Aarons, Nasser Djiga, Derek Cornelius and Jayden Meghoma return to their parent clubs.

Speaking to the Daily Record on 25 February, Longwell said, “Every player, at some point, has to progress in whatever that might look like. I was a little bit surprised that the clubs in Scotland weren’t actively looking.

“I would be gobsmacked if there is not a lot more interest in him in the summer. In my opinion, knowing the quality he has, there will be a lot of interest in him.”

Danny Rohl may have in-house Nasser Djiga replacement solution at Ibrox

John Souttar and Emmanuel Fernandez are the only two natural centre-backs whose futures are secure at Rangers.

While James Tavernier and Dujon Sterling can be deployed in the middle of defence, the captain’s contract expires at the end of the season, while the 26-year-old right-back’s consistent fitness issues have been frustrating.

Leon King is currently thriving on loan at Ayr United, and Danny Rohl may opt to keep him to maintain squad depth for the 2026-27 campaign.

The Glaswegian outfit will have to convince the Scottish defender to sign a new contract, as his current deal expires in the coming months, and he surely deserves a chance to prove himself in Govan.
