Mikey Moore leaves Kevin Thomson ‘scratching his head’ over second-half moment in Rangers draw

Mikey Moore has been one of Rangers’ top performers over recent weeks, but one moment against Livingston left Kevin Thomson bemused.

Danny Rohl’s men had a day to forget in West Lothian, as they dropped two points to relegation-bound Livingston.

For many out on the pitch, it was not their best outing, with Moore highlighting the Gers’ struggle to get a grip on the game by passing the ball out for a goal kick at one point in the second half.

Moore would go on to redeem himself by notching the game’s equaliser, but that aforementioned misplaced pass confused Thomson.

Thomson said via Radio Scotland Extra: “I’m honestly scratching my head now at these misplaced passes. Tavernier has also overhit one. It’s so careless.

“This is not a tactical thing. Chermiti’s slipped two or three times as well. It’s not been Rangers’ day.”

League leaders Hearts will certainly be having a great evening, as both Rangers and Celtic dropped points in the title race.

Danny Rohl’s inexperience may be on show at Rangers

Rangers’ grip on the Scottish Premiership title race took quite the blow with that 2-2 draw against Livingston, leaving them four points behind league leaders Hearts.

However, in the end, it was ultimately a point earned after Rohl’s side had gone 2-0 down, thanks to Moore’s equaliser.

Rohl’s lack of time as a manager, and one at the top end of football, was put under the microscope early into his reign.

Since then, he has managed to get rid of those concerns, but the inexperience may be rearing its head in the final months of the title race.

It should have been a routine three points against a Livingston side that looks all but confirmed as relegated. However, instead, the Gers made hard work of the fixture.

The Bears will now need to bounce back as they face Celtic in their next game.

Rangers cannot afford to drop points against Celtic now

Next week’s Old Firm is more important than ever, as Rohl cannot afford to lose any more ground on the Jam Tarts.

The fixture is shaping up to be an intense clash, as the two Glasgow outfits simply need to secure three points to maintain their title aspirations.

In Edinburgh, Derek McInnes will likely be hoping for a draw, meaning both clubs drop points.

For Rohl, he must head into the match, with nothing but three points an acceptable outcome now.
