The two London clubs are said to be tracking his progress carefully and will decide whether to make a move when the window opens.
Luckily for Rangers, they will be in a good position to set their own demands as his contract is in order, having only moved to Ibrox just seven months ago.
What is Fernandez’s current contract situation at Rangers?
The defender signed from Peterborough in the summer and put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Gers in the process.
That locks him in until 2029 in G51, although his current reported wage may cause problems in its own right.
Fernandez appears to be on a weekly wage of £6,300, equating to £327,600-per-year, which ranks him very low in the current squad.

The fact that the centre-back is on similar pay to this trio, despite being a regular starter, may not go down well moving into the summer.
