Rangers informed on Filip Lissah as Danny Rohl to get versatile defender with new transfer

Rangers have their eyes on Falkirk defender Filip Lissah ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Gers are well aware of the progress the 21-year-old has made in the William Hill Premiership this season and his adaptation to Scottish football, according to the Daily Record.

Scott McDermott of the news outlet reports on 19 February that there are other players in the league the Light Blues should be spying on.

The versatile English centre-back has made 19 appearances for John McGlynn’s team in the top-flight this season, with the Bairns sitting sixth in the table after winning promotion for the 2025-26 campaign.

Filip Lissah interest highlights clear summer transfer plan at Rangers

It looks like the Gers are keeping tabs on players who are performing well in the William Hill Premiership to bolster their squad with signings who have a proven record in Scotland.

Dundee centre-back Luke Graham is being linked with a move to Ibrox, with Dan Purdy keeping a close eye on the Scottish defender.

Cameron Congreve is another player the Light Blues’ technical director will surely be keeping tabs on after his impressive season at Dens Park.

It looks like the Glaswegian outfit have a clear plan for the summer to reinforce their squad with players who are doing well in the domestic league.

Lissah joined Falkirk on loan from Swansea City last summer, but Danny Rohl could potentially be getting a defender capable of playing across the backline if the Govan side opt to offer him a return to Scotland.

The German manager will lose John Souttar, Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius at the end of the season as things stand, and it makes sense for the recruitment team in G51 to identify potential replacements.

Danny Rohl has another transfer priority at Ibrox

A new centre-back should definitely be at the top of the agenda at Ibrox in the summer.

Rohl also has a massive decision to make with regards to the right-back spot at Rangers in the 2026-27 campaign.

James Tavernier’s contract situation is well-known, with the captain’s current deal expiring at the end of May, and there are mixed feelings among fans about extending his stay despite being the Light Blues’ top goalscorer in all competitions this season.

Max Aarons hasn’t done enough to convince the Glaswegian outfit to sign him permanently, while Dujon Serling has been injury-prone, leaving the German manager with another priority position to strengthen.
