Danny Rohl has Ibrox reason to feel confident of Rangers win vs Hearts

The eyes of Scottish football will be on Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

Rangers will take on Premiership leaders Hearts in a 4:30pm kick-off at Ibrox this Sunday, in what is undoubtedly the biggest game of the season for both teams so far.

Danny Rohl‘s side enter the fixture five points behind Derek McInnes’ men, knowing that a win would take them to within striking distance, and a loss could all but end their title hopes.

It’s got all the makings of an absolute Premiership classic in Glasgow, and Rohl does have the Ibrox history books to fill him with confidence.

Why Danny Rohl will be confident of Rangers win vs Hearts

Rohl’s side come into this weekend’s game off the back of an agonising draw against Motherwell last time out, in which Gers conceded an 89th-minute equaliser after Nicolas Raskin had netted after just six minutes.

As a result, they’ve now won just one in their last three Premiership games, having drawn to Hibernian and beaten Kilmarnock respectively.

So, it’s fair to say that Rangers aren’t entering Sunday’s pivotal in the best of form or with the most amount of confidence, and as such, many will be looking for omens of victory.

Thankfully, they can spot on in Rangers’ recent home record against Hearts when the Edinburgh side travel to the blue side of Glasgow.

That’s because out of the last 10 meetings in all competitions between the two sides at Ibrox, Gers have won seven of them, dating back to 16 October 2021.

Hearts did take the day the last time these two met at Ibrox though, winning 2-0 on 13 September 2025.

What is Hearts’ away record like this season?

Hearts have been superb at Tynecastle this season, having won nine of their 13 Premiership games there and are yet to lose on home soil.

However, it’s not quite been the same story for them on their travels, but that doesn’t mean they’ve been bad on the road either.

Indeed, Hearts have lost three times from their 13 away trips in the league this season, with eight wins and two draws to boot.

But, with a handful of away defeats coupled with Rangers’ dominance of the fixture at Ibrox in recent years, Rohl and Gers fans may now be filled with the confidence that they will record a huge three points this Sunday.
